In San Damiano, a small town in northern Italy, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Mamma Rosa (Rosa Quattrini) for the first time on 16 October 1964 to call the world to prayer and penance, and to deliver a series of messages.
Since that day, visitors from all over the world have continued to flock to San Damiano to pray in the presence of Our Miraculous Lady of the Roses, who has promised to keep coming to this place « alive and real », until the end of the world.
In this small garden of Paradise, pilgrims experience a deep sense of peace, and receive grace and consolation.

Ero a Parigi quando ho sentito parlare per la prima volta di San Damiano ed il mio cuore ne fu confuso. G.S., la ragazza che me ne aveva parlato, mi ha detto; «Quando abbiamo voglia di andare a San Damiano, la Santa Vergine fa di tutto affinché possiamo realizzare questo desiderio», La signora mi inviò poi una lettera con tutte le indicazioni
